Associate Quits Tafoya's Firm - Questions Arise

Kane Thuyen, Attorney at Law
Kane Thuyen, now former associate of Tafoya's firm, bailed. The State Bar website says he now works for, Burke, Williams, and Sorensen, LLP.

On May 5, Robert Nacionales-Tafoya, Kane's boss, emailed me that "Kane is on vacation in Spain." On May 13, Kane's email at Tafaoya's firm was already deactivated.

It's not the first time that Tafoya has made such travel claims. At one point, he claimed to be in Arizona when he was under a great amount of stress. A council member later that day stated, "What are you talking about? I just saw him today."

Tafoya's allegations are also questionable, especially in light of his previous and sketchy conduct. Let's not forget that he misrepresented my signature to Judge Lavin. He's filed a meritless temporary restraining order against me. His firm has been caught in extraordinarily billing by the Central Water Basin, billing at a pro rata rate of nearly $1 million a year. For Baldwin Park, his firm has charged approximately half a million per year.

One or more agencies have already confirmed that the City of Baldwin Park is under investigation. We're all wondering why the associate stayed at the firm for about a year and then left.

Questions need to be asked.

Remember, these two were doing the work on behalf of the "public."
